EMERGE Lakeland Volunteers with United Way's Young Leader Soeciety Volunteers are joining in an extraordinary opportunity to bring joy to Lakeland's cherished elderly population residing in long-term care homes. 

This initiative holds deep significance, recognizing the unique challenges faced by seniors in long-term care, especially during the holiday season when feelings of isolation and loneliness can be magnified. Limited mobility often leads to a sense of detachment from the connections they once cherished. Every phone call, visit, or message they receive becomes a precious moment, shining a light into their lives. A simple homemade card, crafted with compassion, can create a lasting impact, reminding them that they are cherished and remembered.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of daily routines, why not take a momentary pause from the demands of work?

Join the EMERGE Volunteer Committee for a relaxing coffee or cocoa session on the upper floor of COhatch Downtown. Here, you can let your creativity flow as you design your own Christmas cards, infusing them with vibrant colors and decorations, or simply pen down words of genuine kindness in a few pre-made cards. By crafting beautiful holiday cards, you'll be bringing joy and happiness to seniors residing in long-term care homes right here in our community.
