About the event
Hundreds of participants are ready to roll up their sleeves and make a difference, and EMERGE Lakeland is excited to be a part of this meaningful initiative. Be part of a community-driven effort to support local nonprofits across Polk, Hardee, and Highlands counties. Together with individuals and organizations from central Florida, we're teaming up with United Way of Central Florida for a day of impactful volunteer projects.
EMERGE Volunteers believe in the power of community-driven efforts, and your involvement has a lasting impact. Whether you're an experienced volunteer or new to this, your enthusiasm and willingness to help are all that matter.
Our volunteer assignment takes place at Fontaine Gills Family YMCA in north Lakeland, where we'll tackle various projects including:
- Painting the classroom
- Spreading mulch on the 'new' playground—6 inches deep and 6 feet wide, with all materials provided
- Scrubbing down a play dome structure in areas untouched by pressure washing
- Weeding and clearing limbs around the playground.
